Letter from the President
By the time you read this newsletter, Halloween will have passed, Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away and Christmas is just around the corner. I know you just cringed, but you know it happens this time every year. Now do I have you in the shopping mood? I thought so. Now rush out and give our local vendors and businesses a chance to fill your needs. After you have beaten the seasonal rush, you will thank me.
With local businesses in mind, I hope you used the Home and Business Showcase to see what our fellow members have to offer. If you were a participant, I hope you met some potentially new customers, got an opportunity to say thank you to your long standing customers or introduced yourself to a new member. Spread the news, the Gas City area is growing and it is you the members that make it happen.

STAR Financial Bank
2005 "Bears for Badges" Campaign
October 24 to December 12
Campaign Description:
- Collection of new and gently loved teddy bears for children who have fallen victim to tragedy. Bears will be donated to fire and police stations in our counties of operation.
- The Bears for Badges campaign was initiated three years ago by STAR Financial Bank's Anderson region. Last year, the campaign expanded to all of STAR. Over 8,700 bears have been collected.
- Clients and employees alike have participated enthusiastically in the Bears for Badges campaign. We have established wonderful relationships with our local police and fire teams.
Scope of Campaign:
- All of our banking centers will be collecting teddy bears. In Grant County:
931 East Main Street, Gas City OR 315 South Adams, Marion
1127 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion OR 2948 S. Western Ave., Marion
- Teddy bears need to be new or CLEAN and in good condition. Donated teddy bears will be given back to local communities. Over 220 fire and police stations have been contacted by letter to participate.
