Directors Luncheon Report

Fifty-seven members attended the October Director's Luncheon. New members to receive membership plaques were Dawn Brown from the Community Foundation of Grant County, Michelle Bunker from Phoenix Technologies and Carol Rush from Mary Kay Cosmetics. Vincent Smith gave an informative presentation regarding the handicapped. Vincent is from WorkOne Express/JobWorks.

As the JobWorks Navigator, Vincent assists disabled individuals in getting back to work as well as helping businesses place disabled individuals. He is an Information & Service Broker; i.e., he gathers information for both you and the disabled individual. Vincent said there will be 168 million new jobs in the future but only 158 million workers. Finding skilled people can be difficult. Vince said businesses are hiring the ability not the disability and encouraged the attendees to call him at (765) 668-8911 if they have questions regarding job placement.

Luncheon speakers are now being scheduled for 2006. You may address a captive audience and have a tasty lunch for only $25... where else but in Gas City? Perhaps you have flyers/handouts you wish to distribute; the luncheon is a great place to do so. The luncheon provides just the right atmosphere for you to inform business leaders what your business is doing and how that fits in their needs. The speaker schedule fills rapidly each year, so call now (765-674-7545) and make a reservation for the month of your choice. Payment can be made the day of the luncheon or we would be glad to invoice you.
