Letter received in the Chamber: Hoosier Bowl has sold to Nancy and Leroy Battieger. Former owner Kathleen Haworth and manager Jackie Warran expressed their thanks for the 16 years patronage. Let us turn that around and say ‘THANK YOU”, Kathleen and Jackie, for your dedication to this community in providing a place of recreation and enjoyment for the entire community.

Director's Luncheon
Approximately 60 people attended the July luncheon. There were two speakers: Barb’s Bits & Bytes and Indiana Classic Hits 106.9 WXXC.
Barb Kitts of Barb’s Bits & Bytes is new in town and addressed the group outlining the services her business provides in computer technology. Barb provided 3 door prizes: 2 computer tune-up coupons and a thumb drive. Barb is willing to answer questions and make house calls, and her business is 100 percent user-friendly. If you want to discuss WHY your computer is not working or WHY it is so slow, contact her at 765.210.0551 or 765.677.0668.
Indiana Classic Hits 106.9 WXXC also brought its team of talents to July's luncheon. They, too, gave away some very nice prizes: Dawn Brown won 2 tickets to Beef and Boards and packages of fireworks were won by several who won at “Name That Tune.” The game was played in an effort to show the audience that tunes played on 106.9 FM are familiar to most people, especially those aged 30 to 49. Because they play such a wide variety of music, they attract a wide variety of listeners and they zeroed in on what a powerful tool radio is when it comes to advertising. “Radio works,” said Lisa Pattison, citing that 94% of consumers listen to the radio. So tune in to WMRI-AM 450 or 860 on your radio dial and when advertising, keeping in mind your audience and its ages and interests. This team stands ready to assist you at 765.664.6239.

Ziplock Omlet
This works great! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet!
Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker. Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them. Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc. Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up. Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes.
You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water. Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed. Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and it'sa great conversation-starter.

Save Time & Money
Compliments of Good Neighbor Pharmacy
Ask your pharmacist about nonprescription medicines. Many prescription medicines have transferred from RX to Over the Counter (OTC) status such as pain reliever ibuprofen and several antihistamines. OTC medicines are convenient, save time and money, and are effective in most common health problems. Six out of ten medicines in the typical home are OTC’s.
Your pharmacist can help guard against a selection of products that could interact with prescription medicines or health problems because the pharmacist tends to know about you and your family. Example: Aspirin & gastrointestinal problems: aspirin is a common ingredient in many OTC products and can cause ulcers to bleed or not heal. Furthermore, your pharmacist can recommend non-drug approaches for care of health problems including use of vaporizers, heat or cold applications, elastic bandages, rest and fluids. Good Neighbor Pharmacy has a rack of brochures entitled “Family Matters” with invaluable medical information; be sure to pick some up when you are in the store.
